This video is about getting closer to The Edge’s sound. Discounting the gear, including the picks is crazy considering what a HUGE part of his sound is actually from his gear, most notably of course, is his use of delay. If the Edge used different amps, guitars, no effects, and the usual picks in the usual way, he wouldn’t sound the same. Great video. Thanks for sharing. I bought the picks a year ago myself and love them. They don’t make be a better player, obviously, but they do contribute to the overall sound I’m creating in just the way I hoped they would.

Sorry, I know you probably mean well, but this is the absolute height of cork-sniffing bullcrap! It's bad enough when players are lead to believe they need a certain guitar, certain type of amp, or particular guitar pedals to sound "good" and/or "like their heroes", but to suggest a particular nylon pick can a make a difference for 98% of players is ridiculous. Perhaps the difference between a very hard pick and a softer one makes a difference to most players' sound, but you know what makes a BIGGER difference for MOST of the players you are addressing... PRACTICE!!! Go work on your technique!! When you have THAT down, THEN perhaps you can start fine tuning your gear. Bottom line... for the vast majority of players watching YouTube self-help videos like this, a decent budget guitar through any modeling amp (and using any reasonably firm guitar pick) will get them as close as they're playing will get them to the sound they seek. At that point, 90% of the difference is in their technique, not their gear!

So here's a little story:
I'm from México north border so this past Saturday i went to texas and took a little detour to Mcallen's Hermes music and start looking for a pick that could emulate the edge's sound because they have way more variaty of picks that the ones they have here on my city so i found a package of blue D'addario nylpro 1.4mm picks and boy i hit the jackpot it's not exactly the same grip but the pick has two little set of dimples on the sides and they definitely give that u2 sound, i only used them in accoustic guitar because i haven't got the time of using my electric guitar but even then they give the sound i was looking for

It’s only one component. The other components are his gear, amps, effects, and finally his hands.
