I think the most amazing thing about this vlog, is Kurt has absolutely no idea what anyone is saying and still manages to make friends everywhere.

A blonde haired man cruising through Vietnam with a war helmet and aviators on….. Surely some people had flashbacks lol.

I think I understand Kurt’s philosophy on life…

If you do not have a comfort zone, you never have to step out of it.

In the last part, the family said they ran out of pho (it was late at night so they were sitting down for dinner) and the rice was "com rang" which translates literally to fried rice haha. The reason the rice tasted so good was because the best fried rice is made from day old rice so it taste crispier than you'd get from fresh rice. The guy's wife made you food from their kitchen as if you're a long lost relative that just stumbled in :)

- show up to Vietnamese ceremony in a military uniform
- take the donation envelope and leave
Really bringing the 1970 experience to the next generation, Kurt 😂

Hi Kurt ! Welcome to VN . You were actually one of the rare Westerners who got the chance to attend that religious ceremony . That religion is an old traditional belief in VN, called Dao Tho Mâu ( the worshipping of the Mother Goddesses ) . The lady who was dancing on the stage is a spirit medium .Back at that moment she was possessed by the spirit of Ong Hoang Muoi ( the 10th Prince of Heaven ), the deity who gives wealth and success in life to the attending persons . So keep the lucky money in the envelope that the other lady gave you . That unique to VN religion is recognized as an intangible cultural world heritage by UNESCO .

Vietnamese people are one of the most friendliest and hard working people on this planet. Every country has some vietnamese immigrants and in every of these countries they never made any problems and always work hard! Respect to the people of Vietnam!!!🎉

I appreciate how you always talk about the history of everywhere in each video.

A perfect balance of education and partying hard.

The guy sitting at the sugarcane stand was trying real hard to talk haha. He was saying mostly that we as foreigners don't have the bongs and cane juice, I suppose that's just his was of being like this is some special stuff. Then the cane lady started telling him there is no chance you understand what the guy was saying, kinda funny to listen to because the guy was just slurring so much that I really couldn't understand some of what he was trying to say.

Hats off to Kurt, I’ve watched a hundred Vietnam travel vlogs and this was the only authentic one. Huge language barrier, but seems like they want to welcome visitors.

That is not a wedding, it is a ceremony in Vietnam called "Hầu Đồng." It is a way to communicate with deities in order to bring luck and peace to people.

The people in Vietnam are absolutely friendly, respectful and hospitable. Why would anyone want to go to war with Vietnam?
