How to play like Stevie Ray Vaughan
Step 1: Be SVR
Step 2: You're not SVR
Step 3: Cry

Dinesh you are really something else man. You have so many small techniques that you throw in on everyone that everything you play just sounds so effortless and so on point.

Stevie had absolute complete control over his battered Strat and it's captivating! Clapton and Stevie have always been my biggest influences! Rip SRV🙏

Really loved this. So much detailed analysis of Stevie’s techniques. And the guitarist has a great flow and feeling in the playing.

I always hear ppl talk about how Stevie used these giant strings, BUT what they FAIL to mention is that Stevie USED PURE NICKEL STRINGS. HE DID NOT USE NICKEL COVERED STEEL STRINGS. When using the pure nickel strings. You must use heavy pure nickel strings to get that heavy sound! Pure nickel strings sound so warm & soft if you compare the same size nickel covered steel! So when using the softer pure nickel you end up having to use much thicker strings to get that thick heavy Stevie Ray Vaughan sound. Also you can lower your pitch like he did to Eb & that will give you much less tension on your strings if you are using a Fender scale size guitar. The combination of lowering your strings to Eb & using the pure nickel strings makes it much easier on your hands & fingers. I have seen guys use like the thickest nickel covered steel strings they can find. Thinking that will help them sound like Stevie & when they go to bend these thick heavy steel strings. They end up popping the ligaments in their index fingers. Completely ruining their fingers for life! This is the stuff I wish people knew about! People can ruin their index fingers when they are trying to do something because they are maybe listening to some idjit on utube or something & completely ruin their careers before they ever get started. I've even heard of guys trying to mimic these bends on acoustics with even bigger steel strings & busting their ligaments and/or cartilage in their fingers. I wish that people would really like think long & hard before they end up unable to even play anymore. I know it sounds like common sense but some people have know clue that you can downtune 1 or 2 whole tones & then play higher up on the neck with so little tension. I wish that people would share these simple "secrets" of pro's. So that people would know

Jackson Browne was also at Montreux and DT jamed in the bar with them. He gave Stevie studio time, hooked up with John Hammond and the rest is History... He didn't do the Bowie tour cuz he was loyal to DT and their sound...

He's an amazing player for sure. One thing. The reverse Trem is because he broke a tremolo and only a left-handed one was available. Although I could see how people see it as a Hendrix tribute.

Anyone else see that the reverse trem puts the bar right in line with the controls?

How to play like SRV? Spoiler alert, you can’t. Lol. His tone and vibe is something out of this world. Nice tribute to his style 🤘🏻

The tremolo thing was all by chance! I think when he needed a new bridge he was only able to get a left-handed one

Oh God hear we go with the critics. I thought it was good technique and he comes close. Good enough for me. This is for people who wanna have fun. You have to start somewhere. Besides nobody's ears are that damn good where you can tell what gauge strings he's using.

Should've used a a Super Reverb Reissue and an engager boost for the gain...
