I love the comments about this being unpatriotic or ruining our flag. I served 2 combat tours during my time in the Marine Corps and lost friends defending our flag and I dont think this is unpatriotic at all. In fact it combines a patriotic element with another aspect of life that someone is passionate about. These flags people make are perfect and show craftsmanship and pride. Keep up the good work

Hey max, im a newbie with woodworking. I mean But i came across your videos. I cant thank you enough for taking your time and explain every little detail that someone who never did any of this could understand. You basically walk us through it. But also someone like myself who is very limited on expensive tools. You show us that you can make beautiful stuff with what is not all high priced machinery. Ty and god bless. I wish i can show you my first flag i just made the other day. ⚫⚫🔵🔵⚫⚫ 🙏

I do something similar to this. Little tweak I like to make is I’ll layer painters tape under the template and then cover the flag. After that’s done I use spray adhesive to stick the paper template down so that there’s no gap between the paper and the surface of the flag. Then I just remove the painters tape 👍🏽

Your work is fantastic, I love the variety you make. This inspires a lot of people to get up and and make anything they love to. I would like to to offer some advice from my own experiences making stained glass and wood projects. To all you girls out there you can learn quickly to use electric saws, etc! SAFETY IS BIG, , LEARN WHAT NOT TO DO WITH MACHINERY! My tip to Max, hold your wood burner up straight with fine tips..Don't rest your are on your work to steady your hand. If you drag the tip at a angle angle you will get burns along the outer edges. You felt that the tool was to hot? Wrap a old rag, towel around the tip for a bit, once you remove it some of the heat. will be pulled from the tips. Back to holding your burner. and dremmel, sp? straight up from your work and get a sharper line. I also laid my arm on stained glass as I used Flux to soldier, I washed my hands and arms after quitting for the day making 5 very lrg peices, assembly line work since huge. The last. day, finished all but laid my arms in hot bath? My arms sounded like a steak hit a hot grill? I had had chemical burns cuz. Flux soaked under my skin? I had hole's on my arm almost to the bone? Big problem was the holes got deeper & larger each day? Dr said, I don't know what to do? I couldn't believe a Dr said that? It took a plastic surgeon to stop the chemical burns, after I could see the bone? I learned the hard way and knew better as. a. Graphic Artist. This is only a suggestion especially if some of your work work is wet, damp, just better control and smoother smoother line's. Sorry so long but it's good advice for those working on projects and not go through what I did! Thanks Max for your great

Great job man! I use the same technique but use carbon paper to draw the picture on the wood and cut it with a jig so it has a 3D effect. Will use this technique for sure! Keep them coming!

Just a tip about transferring an image. Put carbon paper under your image and tape them down. Then trace the outline of your image or text and it’ll show up nice and clear on the wood. Make 2 passes on your image and don’t press too hard.

I love it...i typically use carbon paper to transfer my design to the wood. So I don't have to worry about it moving while carving and I can see the wood while carving the outline

Great job!! I would like to know if it could have been possible to stain or paint the moose black or brown so it could stand out more?

Great video Max! I'll try this on some cutting boards and fill the carved area with colored epoxy!

You can flip your paper over design down and apply modge podge to the back. Make sure it’s really wet and let it dry. Go back later with a damp sponge and rub softly and the image will transfer to your wood. Then you can Dremel without the paper in the way. Just to let you know

Great video ... really like all your videos. Would love to see one on how you deal with mistakes. Like a screwed up star or any other kind of mistake. Would be great to see a few tips on correcting them ... Thanks

A little tip from what I do. After putting the image on the flag. I'll trace over it with a good ball point pen. I don't have to worry about the paper falling off and when I remove the paper there's an indent on the wood. Then I'll dremel it all out.
