We're in Mexico's second biggest city, Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco. Home to tequila, mariachi and a tonne of delicious food. This video is set in Guadalajara's regional wholesale market, Mercado de Abastos which is home to some iconic street stalls in Guadalajara. We start with the famous dish of birria- a slow roasted goat stew, chilaquiles and carne asada and finish with menudo- a beef tripe soup. What a morning of eating. 1.  Birria de chivo at Birrieria Aceves, 44530, Calle 4 453, Comercial Abastos, Guadalajara, Jal. Open daily 8:00am to 1:00pm 

2. Chilaquiles with a side of sirloin at Menuderia y Carnes Asadas Alfonso, Av Mandarina L1, Comercial Abastos, 44530 Guadalajara, Jal. Open 7 days 7:00am to 5:00pm. Closes at 3:00pm on Sundays.

3. Menudo at Menuderia Chela, Calle 2 4-202, Comercial Abastos, 44530 Guadalajara, Jal. Open daily 6:30am to 2:00pm.

Don't you love it when total strangers in Mexico say "buen provecho" or enjoy your meal. It is such a gentle and human way to acknowledge people's existence around them. Unlike in some European (sorry), Canadian or American cities. You have to love Mexican culture and society for their openess and friendlyness. Try to say "buen provecho" wherever you are sharing a meal in public spaces and you will make tons of friends. :-) :-)

Remember. Menudo. You have to eat with freshly made tortillas or toast with chips. Always coriander, onion and lemon. If possible avocado slices and chopped radish. You can also make your tacos of the same dish of menudo. Many people roll up the tortilla and wet it with the menudo soup
