Julius Shoulars, 94, describes landing on Omaha Beach with the 7th Naval Beach Battalion on June 7, 1944.

understatement of the last century !
P.S i had a great grandfather who captained a landing craft at point du hock ( i was born after he died ) my mum told me he would be on the verge of crying and say they were just falling off the cliff when he was asked about the war

Mr. Shoulas Sir. My Dad Francis Knapton Thomson (Red) RM 2 was 2nd wave at Omaha beach with th 7th Beach Btln. Where he was wounded. He was also aboard the uss Karnes. He later served in the Pacific during the Okinawa landings. Before he pased, he made a presentation at the 7th's reunion sometime in the late 80's i beleive.
