I don’t think there are ugly men who try their best. I’ve never seen a dude who is in shape, with a great hairstyle and beard, nice fashion and clear skin still be ugly. That also applies to women. Usually the people who we consider ugly are fat, unkept hair, bad skin, bad fashion etc.

I think that most people forget that they have an aura. Not spiritually but the small habits and presence of yours impact your appearance in a huge way. The only add ons are healthy hygiene, dressing, exercise and self-care which makes makes a leap by +2 percentage. So if you are a 5 or 6/10 (this is an eg) the +2 makes you 7 or 8 but to really turn up the game, you need your aura to do the thing. Trust me you'll feel happier around your aura as well

What helped me was ditching the glasses, keeping my eyebrows, beard and mustache always shaped up, growing out my hair and obviously putting on muscle. none of which was too hard in particular but takes time in tweaking it to a way that best suits you

If it's of any help, from a woman's perspective, being clean: clean clothes, not wrinkles or unkept, good hygiene, no bad bushy ugly beard with cigarettes smell and yellow on it or other stuff and a tint of perfume, but not too much goes a long way!
Once a two guys who delivered furniture came, one was very chubby and the other was not, actually looking quite good, but he smelled of smoke while the cubby one smelled of shower gel, it instantly boosted him on the attraction scale. Knowing that a man is washed and clean is nr 1 on the priority list, guys.

Honestly, I don't usually see people talking about this topic in this way (considering the difference between what men perceive as "ideal" attractiveness versus what women percieve). Good job on hitting that point, as a woman and from talking to plenty of other women, barely any of us really see the "6 ft gigachad" as the most attractive type of man. Since attractiveness is determined by plenty more factors than just height and plain looks, it should be looked at from a standpoint that is more nuanced than a simple number scale or checking boxes off a list.
