The complete Mozart family is from Augsburg/Germany. His father, Leopold Mozart, composer in Augsburg, in 1747 married Anna Maria Pertl, who was from St. Gilgen, Austria.

I wish Waldemar Januszczak was narrating these documentaries on the great classical composers. This man with his stentorian British accent, hideous pink ties and ill-fitting green suits (example at 12:54) takes himself too seriously. Dude, come on down from that academician throne of yours, mingle with the unwashed peasants here wanting to see these documentaries, and show a little bit of mirth, humor or life...
