Ford just recently revealed the 2025 Explorer Facelift and wow are things improved. Starting now at $41k, the Explorer receives a new face and rear with a bold front grille, new LED headlights, a new bumper, and sleek LED taillights. Also new for this year is the Vapor Blue Metallic exterior paint. But the best is inside with the new Ford Digital Experience, a refined powertrain… it’s a solid family hauler even on the “base” Active trim at this art tested $48,320 price. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: For now, powertrains are the same. Starting is a 2.3L EcoBoost 4-Cylinder making 300HP and 310 lb-ft of torque paired to a revised 10-Speed automatic. Over my week, I had 0 powertrain complaints; it was smooth, surprisingly torquey, and offered a decent engine note. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Highs:
+New interior is a long awaited upgrade and WELL worth it. 12.3 inch infotainment screen is crisp, quick, and nearly bug free.
+ New interior materials and components are a noticeable quality improvement
+Ride comfort was smooth, quiet on the highway.

Lows:
-The third row is a bit tight, some competitors offer more adult level space
-While a positive to some buyers, the styling could be more distinctive and bold.
-Seats could offer more bolstering support.

7.5/10 - I experienced no major faults in the 2025 Explorer over 1 week. Could the interior be more premium? Sure, but get the Platinum. The third row could be a bit larger and the styling a tad less conservative, but the Explorer

I just purchased one yesterday and it's fantastic to drive. There's a lot to figure out, but Ford finally put the fun back into driving. I love it!

Bought the carbonized gray 2025 active on Sep 30. Got the upgraded equipment group which included 20 inch wheels. Captain’s Chairs 2nd row and moonroof. Absolutely love it!

Thinking about get the 2025 S line. Don't know a lot about Ford's 4 cylinder

This will be my next vehicle for sure. I prefer the carbonized gray exterior color instead of the vapor blue you show here. As i feel it blends in the exterior black wheel arches better. Nicely done review explaining everything. I think the active trim is MORE than enough in terms of amenities and what you get with that package. As well as the piped in sound i love that feature. I've read a lot of complaints from folks on various Ford Forums that they don't like it. But i do and you forget your driving a 4cyl. The only things i wish they kept was the dual exhaust tips in the rear. Along with they could have body colored the side mirrors the same color as the rest of the vehicle. Instead of leaving them black. And given us dedicated HVAC buttons for the A/C, Defrost, etc...Instead of sorting through a busy menu from the touchscreen. Otherwise, job well done Ford.

I wish the dashboard had a selectable turbo boost display as available in the F150and Expedition. The turbo boost display allows you to control your economy or power demand. At 65-70mph I have gotten up to 26.5 mpg in the Expedition Max 4WD on the highway with 5 passengers. With 4 passengers in the Explorer 2.3L 4WD, my best milage was 30mpg.

The raspy sound is simulated through speakers not the tuning. Fake Engine Noise Generator is the common term. FENG for short
