I've heard this piece being played (much) faster, but listening to this performance perfectly explains being fast is not always the right answer. This is played with so much grace and sentiments.

Yes. This is Chopin’s ‘poetry’ at its best, and Sokolov is a marvellous interpreter, all the way through

The care and attention paid to the articulation and dynamics on the ornamental figures, and indeed, to every phrase in the piece, is quite stunning. A marvelous performance.

Очень красиво звучит...без излишнего шума...как-то просто...но кантиленно величественно!))))Инструмент дышит...поёт...замирает...и т.д.

Great playing! I find it a bit strange that there were only a handful of people in the audience!

I am sure, that Chopin himself knew, he had written something deep and with great but this would probably knock him off the chair!

No, it is not the correct tempo - too slow, and the Horowitz 1950 interpretation is the benchmark for this piece. But, I have to add, Sokolov was/is a great, and I mean GREAT pianist and fabulous interpreter for whom my respect is limitless.

안녕하세요 혹시 영상 어디서 구하셨는지 알 수 있을까요? 제가 알기론 이 때 제네바에서 다른 폴로네이즈도 쳤었는데 못 찾겠네요.
