The way you cut your voice as if you were caught in the middle of the blast is a great touch

Bro just casually made one of the hardest dramatic voice cutoffs

Most people don't know, the explosion was so powerful it killed the narrator in 2024 mid sentence

Keep in mind, that was "only" 15kt. Most strategic nukes today are from 100kt to 1 mega ton. Even most tactical nukes are around 50kt. Absolutely terrifying

I love how you stated that the nukes are detonated in the air because a lot of people don't know they do that

My mother who is Japanese was in nurse training school at 17 years old when the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. She told that they went there and had they no idea how to treat the survivors. Many had been burned horribly and their skin was just hanging off their bodies. She said it was something no person should ever see. My mother is still alive, she turned 95 this year.

Moral of the story, if the USA ever drops leaflets telling you to leave the Get to walking

The cutoff and visuals at time of detonation combine to make such a solemn and powerful note. I remember the effect it had on me the first time watching this video, I feel it again now.

I did a quick trip to the museum in Hiroshima in 1994 after the F1 race at suzuka. In the entrance hallway was an old man who got up and rolled up his shirt sleeves to reveal his burns. I'll never forget that.

Anyone else hear about the guy who lived in Hiroshima and worked at Nagasaki and he was there when the nuke hit Hiroshima, he survived, went through all the effort to get to Nagasaki to get to work, just to get there as the 2nd nuke dropped?

Fun fact: there was a single man who was within the bomb zone of both seperate bombings. He was badly burned but managed survived both. He was given a medal or award of some sort.

Years ago at a restaurant, I talked with a sailor who witnessed this from the water. He was in his 90's and cried like a baby talking about it. He told me he was scared to death. I bought his dinner. It was my great honor to talk with him.

Damn, that was super impactful. The voice cutoff was a touch of genius, but also your mention that the streets were "packed with early morning rush hour traffic". Such a simple statement but it really brings it home. It's such a relatable aspect that I'd never really considered. Fantastic short, definitely got my sub, look forward to more thought provoking videos.

This was phenomenal. I know a lot of people are mentioning the last part where it cuts off but I can’t help but say something myself. It’s poignant.

I remember one Instagram a while ago that a young woman when she was about five years old said that her father saw the pamphlet flying in the air and he took it seriously. He took his family to the old mines about 3 miles away. The family eventually moved to America a few years later.

I have a friend and neighbor growing up whose whole family moved from China.
His great grandma was about 10 years old and lived in a city called Nanjing.
Even when she was in her 80s she would cry randomly when she would nap in the afternoon.
Its hard to feel bad for any Japanese person of the time. Monsters who only understood violence.
