Great video and so helpful! When COVID shut down all triathlons in the US in 2020, our group put together our own race course and rules. We had so much fun because it was very casual and there wasn’t a trophy or age group to try and win. Plus, we had our own killer party after it was all done!!!

I'm guilty as charged. Rest days are the hardest for me to do. I'm scared to loose fitness, get fat or not be able to maintain what I have achieved so far. I will have to regroup on that part. Another one not mentioned is proper eating. I love cookies, maybe thats why I train so hard so I don't get fat. Great video to spur on the thinking.

Easy to slip into many of those habits / traps. That’s one of the benefits of having a good coach keeping an eye and guiding you.

My worst bad habit must be that I skip swimming until I only have 6 weeks left of preparation for an ironman swim. Then I panic and start swimming like there is no tomorrow. Somehow I manage to get through the swim on the race day just so I can take another 10.5-month swim break.

Making sure to have a rest day is probably the biggest effort I have to make each week... Even though I know it's only beneficial!

After completing my first dozen triathlons I sat down and reviewed my training and performance to find any mistakes I've made. I found one big one.

Had to stop with twisted ankle now putting on weight as its xmas almost lol.
As an aside are you guys filming in Lanzarote to avoid the British winter

Bad habit #1 : I usually never train the swim until 2 months prior to my IM full. I can still swim the distance but I'm pretty sure, energy wise, I'm burning a lot of matches early on in the race.

I doubled my running distance in one week and add 1 track day , ,, the result is particial soleus tear:(
Total healing time 4 months.

What about my bad habits of drinking too much, only training if it’s not raining and not training enough! LOL🙄

For sure not sticking to the easy sessions. Once I start to feel good, I go right back to pushing the workout and not enjoying it. 😑
