You can also run a switch too the signal of your brake boost sensor. Or just unplug the brake boost sensor all together. I drive in (M) but just wanted too share.

I do this all the time..The truck seems smoother overall especially in the 30-40mph zone..it’s super clunky with that afm crap active

It is kinda the same on the 07-13 models with a real transmission. Before I got the Range device, I noticed keeping it in 3 instead of D would keep it in V8 mode. I assume it makes the truck know you're towing something, like how gears 5 for you and 7 for the 8 speeds do it, being the last gear before "OD" would kick in. Yet, putting it in tow/haul mode didn't change a thing. Obviously I can't go everywhere in 3 instead of D, so I bought the device.

Has anyone tried this on a 2020 trail boss with the 6.2L? I just came back from a road trip and realized my speed was limited to 98mph!! It was a rude awakening passing that semi on a wide open west Texas highway.

Love this, I had to find out by trial and error...use AFM on empty freeway with cruise control. In stop and go or pulling out on a busy street, M mode is the way to go! I think tow mode does a similar thing. The M can be thought of as Max gear, all other down shifting takes place, when in overdrive gears the AFM will kick in.

Does the OBD device also make it so that you only have used 5 gears? Wondering if there's a way to use all gears with AFM disabled..

I did this on my 2015 and only when driving around town about a dozen times. Now, during highway driving with the shifter in Drive, it does not go into the V4 mode when going down hill, etc. why?
