Learn how to disable/enable Active Fuel Management (AFM), also known as Displacement on Demand (DOD) or Cylinder Deactivation, on your GM vehicle with VCM Editor! 💻 AFM/DOD is sometimes unnecessary for racing and/or retrofit applications. If you swap to a non-DOD camshaft, you'll definitely want to address this.

The video makes it look simple. I have a 2019 Sierra AT4 with the 5.3. Had a lifter fail and caused all sorts of debilitating issues. Went ahead and installed a delete kit. However, in VCM editor, there is no "fuel/lean saving" tab for me to disable to AFM...

AFM disabler plug in tool goes into the obd 2 port for $56 on eBay and or Amazon it’s great and for inspection have to unplug it and drive it for 2 or 3 days then take it in then can put it back in after that 😁

Ok, seen the DOD Delete is disabled, but what about the VVT actuator on the camshaft timing gear? When replacing the camshaft and going from having the VVT actuator to non VVT is there something else to write/turn off with your HP Tuner? Why is this not mentioned?

This is fine unless you also remove the Vlom... then there is some DTCs you have to tell it not to set a light for and to ignore.

How do I get my hands on this hardware and software, I'm a mobile auto repair man and I do these delete kits all the time, it would save me lots of time to just do this myself instead of always having to out source this to another guy. I have no problem send jobs to the next man but it would be incredibly convenient for me to do this in house, , , or on site rather. Please PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY😂😂😂
