Here it is everyone the reason why I chose the 2.0L Turbo engine for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon purchase. In this video I share some of the reasons why I did not want the another 3.6 pentastar engine and we also install the turbosmart blow off valve for the 2.0L Turbo engine and get that Fast And The Furious vibe now when letting off the throttle. So come along for a install and some explanation on why to choose the 2.0L Turbo engine over the 3.6L pentastar in the Jeep Wrangler. Enjoy.....

I've had many Jeeps. AMC 360, 2.5 YJ, 2.5 TJ, 4.2 YJ, 4.0 YJ, 3.8 JKU. 3.6 JKU and of course- the 2.0 I-4 Turbo. I FLIPPING LOVE THIS 2.0!!!! They are loud little engines, and they demand premium fuel, but they are also amazingly efficient, with amazing MPG's and they are QUICK little buggers. Mine is a 2020 JLUR with 50K miles so far. I adore this engine!

Actually, it’s the same engine that’s in the Alpha Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. I own a Giulia 2.0 and no issues. The engine was designed in Cooperation with Ferrari (which was at least at that time still part of FCA).

Nice! I need this same mod asap! I’m 5k into my two door rubicon turbo and I love everything about it. I also had a weak 3.6 2014 jk with loads of issues so I had no problem gambling with the turbo, so far I’m very happy!

I’ve had mine since 2018 and I owned the v6 JK before that it’s a little beast of an engine I love it never had an issue.

I will say I think the 8 speed transmission makes all the difference with the JL Wranglers. Both the 3.6 and the 2.0T benefit greatly from that new transmission. I had a TJ, three JKs, and now a JL with the 2.0T and I love it so far.

There are quite a few differences between the Jeep and Alfa 2.0T. The Jeep has a home grown VVT whereas the Alfa 2.0T uses Fiat’s MultiAir valve timing. Chrysler/Jeep’s 2.0T is DOHC whereas Alfa’s is SOHC. Also, the Jeep uses an open-deck block design where Alfa uses closed-deck. As for similarities they do have the same turbocharger, induction tube, and Intercooler. Somehow with all of the differences they still consider both in the same engine family and the same nickname. Maserati does have a twin-charged variant of Alfa’s 2.0T.

I did hear that they are moving production to an engine plant in Michigan, not sure how true that is. On my Cherokee the window sticker says the engine origin is Italy as well. I was actually looking into getting the BOV from TurboSmart. Great video! 😁

I hope you can hear it more in person than on the video, because I could barely, barely make it out. I had a Ford Raptor and that was really cool for the blow-off because it's diverter valve ran through a rubber hose into the engine, so all you had to do was disconnect that hose, and it would blow off to atmosphere, and you could hear it really well. Of course it helped that that was a bigger engine with twin turbos :-)

I went from a pentastar from a grand cherokee WK2, those have 295 horses but the wrangler have what? 280? But I bought a 2 door Rubicon as well with the turbo. Stock height, did rugged ridge fenders (more clearance) and 17x9s with a -4 offset and 35x12.5 ATs. Bro, it destroys the trails. All I did the BANKS CAI for sound and have their programmer to eliminate all turbo lag. Im in love with it.

Sweet! Have a 2020 Willy’s JLU with the amazing 2.0 turbo. Like you I had the 3.6 and earlier 3.8. Dogs in comparison. I reached as much as 28mpg on the highway way above the double nickel. It’s impressive is an understatement. Thanks for the vid and review…I think it’s on my bucket list.

Sorry for the lame comment because I don’t know anything about engines but, what does this do exactly?

I also have a 2021 JLU 2.0t I just hit 30000 and not a problem. The 2.0t makes it fun to drive but what I hate is the cold start engine noise I get but after 2 min it gets quiet. Anyone else has the same problem? Dealer says it’s normal not to worry about.
