Some odd tests that I ran out in the garage while the transmit unit was still up in the office, just to see what would happen, were:
1. Tested a 10ft 12 gauge extension cord which showed zero difference from being connected directly to the wall
2. Tested a 100 ft 14 gauge extension cord reduced the max speed from 90 megabits to 50
3. Tested a surge protector and the powerline adapter was on the farthest-most outlet from the power cord on the surge protector gave a 22 Megabit maximum instead of 90
4. Tested a surge protector but the powerline adapter was plugged into the closest socket to the power cord went up from 22 to 28, but that’s still quite a difference from 90.
