Carlisle is my favourite from the house of Parfums de Marly. I recently went to visit a friend. He was at one end of a room and as soon as I entered he said, "What are you wearing? It smells so good". I was taken back because he was at least 8ft away and I just walked in the room. It's a stunning fragrance

I just got Gentle Fluidity Silver and Oud for Greatness, because of you haha, and I couldn't be any happier! Really enjoy your content as you've easily become one of my favorite fragrance reviewers and whose opinions I highly factor in when purchasing more expensive fragrances.

Saffron as a note always seem to be paired with leather. When I first smelled the Givaudan aromachemical Safraleine it all made sense. It is very leathery/phenolic at the same time as it has a very realistic saffron smell.

Hi Josephine, fantastic list except for Aventus. I really think it ain’t worth it nowadays. It ain’t worth the $$$ for the quality that you get. It’s a rip-off. Don’t get me wrong, loved Aventus. Own a vintage bottle, while it lasts. The newer formulations falls flat in performance and is very, very inconsistent. This house is being sold and it can only get worse.

This was an excellent 'no nonsense' list, Josephine. Definitely gonna sample all of these. Don't have a fave, as it would be too hard to choose, but I've been wanting to try (will be trying) that Halfeti for over a year. Keep'em comin'!

Tom Ford Oud Wood is my tried-and-true out of your list. I know "oud lovers" don't even bother ranking this one; and that's fine by me, because I don't click with some ouds that walk down the "fecal" trail 🤣, though, I greatly favor the woodsier drydowns.
Will you please sort out this Oud f Greatness for me, Josephine -given this pet peeve of mine?

Josephine, I have your top 6!!! I needed some advice for Module 02, it just doesn't do it for me so now I'm going to try layering it. I'm pretty sure MFK Gentle Fluidity is your favorite since it's on all your men's list. Then again, so is Oud for Greatness. Those are your top 2. LOL

The best examples for dominant note of ambroxan is Versace Dylan Blue, Dior Sauvage, and other entry level fragrances from designer. In JPG Le male you dont have any ambroxan note just some benzoine amber, maybe they change the formula, idk, also in ADG Profumo there s just some synthetic aquatic note wich are very well blended with rosemary, spices, patchiuli, frankincese, and Sage. All in all there are worse examples of Generic Ambroxan usage in a juice. Nice pick up, nice list, i m very courios about Penhaglions, very underrated! Cheers, Jus!
