If you've been looking for a pedal that can replace your preamp, distortion and direct box, then look no further: it's the Pulp 'N' Peel compressor. For the record, let me clarify what it's not called: the Orange Squeezer, the Pulp 'N' Pop, the Squish 'N' Squeeze, or the Orange Slice. Got it? Cool.

Nice! You showed my Orange Squeezer! I bought that at Harmony Music in Reseda CA back in the early 80s (might have been 79' or so). My buddy Paul traded it for me to Josh for a pedal. I knew it was going to a good home, but I never expected it to show up in a video!

I'm starting to think that a prerequisite for working at JHS is to be a really talented multi-instrumentalist. Well done, lads.

Josh`s RAT obsession got so bad he started to randomly put rats in pedals

Great to see the show is in good hands when Josh isn't around, this was one of my favorite episodes!

God I love you guys so much!
If it’s Addison casually mentioning the Panasonic chips being better while Josh’s away, or Nick doing Jim faces at the camera while playing and acoustic in a cowboy hat, every frame is a treasure.
Name another show where the “main guy” (whose name is literally the name of the show) goes on a family vacation for a few weeks and the show doesn’t miss a beat!
Of course you had to drop this exactly four days after I ordered my 3 series compressor instead of the pulp’n peel, after I couldn’t choose between them for months…

Every JHS pedal needs a secret RAT switch

Addison throwing down some riffs. Hell yeah.

The Yamaha FG series is so underrated when it comes to acoustics. Yamaha as a brand overall is underrated when it comes to instruments. Good quality, great sound, and affordable.

These jams are THE BEST i've ever heard on this channel! Let these two play more of these jams please. Oh, and the sound engineering here is incredible....

Hilarious that Addison apologized to the bassists for using DI instead of an amp. We probably are way more sympathetic about going DI than the guitarists are. Lord only knows how often we get asked for a DI signal by the front even when we do have amps set up.
Anyway, you're not going to make me regret getting a whitey tighty instead of the pulp n peel. Y'alls little white compressor is still a fine figure of a compressor.

Saw this 23 minutes after it was uploaded. Had been wavering on the Pulp N Peel all weekend but was wanting The Milkman as well. With the PnP already in my Sweetwater cart - and seeing you pull out the Milkman - I took it as a sign that I needed both so that’s what I did. Great show. So much fun and learned yet a few more tidbits as always.

I love how Josh wants all his staff to shine. Great job, Nick and Addison.

Wow, great job. Definitely the first time a JHS show episode has legit surprised me. The guy who works on my amps has always gone on about how great of a circuit the Orange Squeezer is and it seems the Pulp N Peel is a super polished, versatile and expanded iteration. It's easy to tell that the best of these episodes come when you guys are really into and inspired by the piece(s) of gear being discussed and this one was aces top to bottom. The jams, the tones, the conversation, the drum faces (Addison wins), it was all superlative. 🍻💯

Great episode guys! The Pulp N Peel is the only JHS pedal I own as of now. I love it, and it's always on. I really didn't realize what I had until I had been messing with it for a couple of weeks. It is truly the most flexible/versatile pedal I own.

I opened YouTube without intending to watch a JHS Episode. But I just did.
I didn't planned buying a compression pedal. Now I'm not sure how I will survive without this pedal.

Two things: I want one! This was a highly entertaining episode as well as demonstrative of the value of the product and the dedication and talent of Josh's cohorts. One of the best episodes I've seen.

This was the pedal that got me intrigued about what these little magic boxes can do.

My drummer borrowed one from another guitarist and told me "it will just make your guitar sound better, I dunno why, just try it". Hooked it up, strummed a chord and I was stunned. Just like Nick, I started turning knobs.

Saved up and got one, it's truly great, on anything: electric, acoustic, weissenborn (knock off), bass, doesn't matter. It handles and brings the right options to your fingertips and now I've got a better idea of why.

Thanks for the videos as always, and contrary to the builders hints, some people use the dirt switch! I immediately noticed it was a sweet bonus option, though I didn't know it was a rat until the pack rat came out and that was mentioned! Just thought it was a good ol dirt to my ears:)

I was a customer of Harmony Music in the San Fernando Valley (California) on Canby Avenue. The owner was a great person. And 45 years later, I still have some gear from his shop.

Thanks for the memory.
