Clicked for the nostalgia, stayed to see what were the latest TNT cannon technology, was very mindblown by the fact you can move those TNT minecarts

I feel like this video accurately represents the evolution of weapons through time; Cannon, bullet, nuke.

Man, flashbacks to that map where people had 2 ships and would have a naval battle shooting at eachother with tnt cannons, and that other one where theyd each have a platform and would launch some of the first tnt/piston missiles at eachother.

This looks like a history lesson. We come from big enough and manually loading cannons to compact semi-automatic artillery and from artillery to uncontrollable but very powerful missiles/rockets.

I think that’s the closest we have gotten to a non-modded nuclear missile, that was freaking awesome

the fact that u can't even see the TNT (ignoring the glitch) on the missile flying machine is what makes it deadlier. people will see it coming but they won't know what will hit them till it explodes. genius

2012: we manually place tnt and it only shoots one tnt at a time! NICE!

2022: massive landmine nuke, GO

2012: Old timey muzzle loading cannon, slow to load, slow to fire, not very accurate
2016: A modern more compact and efficient design with a higher degree of accuracy
2022: A fucking thermobaric missile

Great video!
Who remembers making their first TNT cannon?

Damn I used to do these old tnt guns back in 2014
I remember how excited we were to be able to shoot TNT, but now these funny weapons transformed into massive destruction tools... so cool ! 😄

We have gone from cannons to ICBMs. How do we progress from here

There are way cooler cannons too... everything from simple scatter cannons that blow up everything in front of it to huge, complex precision machines that can shoot 20 chunks, fire a sand stack to the height limit while breaking dozens of slabs underneath it, and nuke an entire wall even covered with water. There were even cannons that could bore a tunnel that was hundreds of blocks long instantly. Factions was fun, to say the least. And to be completely honest the ingenuity people used in what was supposed to be a simple block game is actually terrifying.

TL;DR this was just the tip of the TNT cannon iceberg and the people who developed those other insane cannons should work at NASA

I personally would say that that is a piece of art and should be framed and looked upon in years time as a piece of history

I recall years ago having "missile wars" as a pre-made map that a lot of YouTubers tried out. The concept of a missile in Minecraft redstone is hardly novel but the use of observer blocks has made them a lot easier to implement.

You’re an OG if you know that was in the red stone book Mojang realeased

there were more devastating cannons around 2016 though, maybe even earlier, I remember one that shot like a machinegun, like a contraption that vomits tnt, that was very cool

What’s cool is that it’s also possible to counter this missile with a curtain of exploding tnt launched by a cannon to explode it from a safe distance. Although it’s a lot more costly than the missile because it requires a lot of cannons to guarantee a hit.
Edit: I wanted to add that a tnt countermeasure is, like, the least optimal way of countering it, but I’m willing to bet my left nut that it’s the coolest way.
