Honda CBR250R | First Impressions

My girlfriend takes her first ride on my Honda CBR500R! That leaves me with the Honda CBR250R :)

I rode the bike home on the day of purchase but this is the first time since, so we'll call this my "first impressions" of the little 250cc single. One to word describe it - fun!

If you're looking for your first motorcycle and are a little shorter, the 250R has a low seat, is nice and light, and is easy to steer. If you're a little taller and don't mind a few extra kg in weight, the CBR500R might be the better choice. It's smoother and has more torque throughout the rev range. Either way, you'll be happy!

I bought one of these lately and, like, WOW! It's so light and easy to ride yet it'll easy slide along at 78mph/7500 rpm. It does feel cramped after an hour and the weight on your elbows causes a slight ache. Soo much fun. Love it!
My only gripe is that the fuel gauge flashes empty when you still have half a tank. Fuel economy ranges between good 70/80mpg and ridiculous, 90+ depending how you ride.

Thanks for this video comparing it against your 500. I've been watching a few 250 videos as a starter bike. I'm a big guy and looks like I'm gonna start on a CBR500.

I have very mixed feelings about the cbr 250. I ride super bikes and daily a CBR 1100. I am very spoiled. But I'm not a snob to smaller bikes. I've spent a lot of time on a rebel 250 and have plenty of fun on it. But the cbr 250 feels like I'm breaking it when I ride. It's working so hard. But I'll admit, I had some fun on it but you have to crank it. Good news is you're not really accidentally going triple digit speeds. I know it's a quality product and it has practical uses. But honestly the rebel 250 felt more torque and easier to ride. Maybe it's just the one I rode but the bike shakes and bogs down below 3k rpm
