I love the simplicity but also how you walked me through step by step with the measurements. This is my first time making cranberry relish and I know this will be a hit!

"Toasty nuts"😂😂😂 I'm sorry that was inappropriate. 😂Anyway thank you for helping me through this cranberry relish. I have always bought a particular brand to have at Thanksgiving and Christmas but the closest jar is over an hours drive from me this year. I cook and bake almost everything from scratch but I've never make the relish before. I think the jars I bought last year were the last jars of cranberry relish I ever bought now that I have this recipe. I hope you and yours have a beautiful holiday season.

I do something really similar. But I don't put pecans (or, indeed, any nuts) in it. My ingredients are 2 bags of Fresh, chopped Cranberries - a Cinnamon Stick - 1/2 Cup Water . . . 1 Cup Brown Sugar - 1/2 a small Sweet Onion, finely diced, about 1/3 Cup Golden Raisins, minced - the zest & juice of one large Orange . . . 2 Pears, peeled, cored & diced. First three ingredients in the pot to boil until berries pop - then add all but the diced Pears, and cook for about 10 minutes - constantly stirring. Then add the diced Pears for the last 5 minutes. Set aside to cool. It will have enough pectin for it to gel. Will keep, covered, in fridge, for about a week.

I know this would be a "technicality", but wouldn't this dish that you just made be more of a cranberry "sauce" rather than a relish? A sauce is cooked, but a relish is raw, yes? (as in ground up cranberries with oranges & stuff). ??

I cant eat nuts, so the pecans (not in this part of the workd anyhow) will need to be omitted- yes homemade cranberry relish is easy and no need to eat the canned.
