This was played at my brothers funeral. He was a drug addict. I helped him all his life, but the drugs took him. He was never heavy, he was my brother.

this was inspired by something that happened at Everton Football Club one night in a match V Newcastle united. to show solidaritary with neighbours Liverpool F.c. the two kids walked out in Everton and Liverpool shirts holding hands (as shown depicted in the video) the music 'He ain't heavy He's my Brother' originally by 'the HOLLIES' Blared out to thunderous applause all around. i was there and will never forget it. they went on to get artists together and re-create the moment by making this wonderful re-make of the 'Hollie's' masterpiece. well done Everton and God bless 97 as it stands now who died.

I was a young kid who was and still is today head over heels in love with this club. But this day was the long drawn out spiral for this club and city and county. It was for many in the city a continuation for the planned downward spiral of Mrs Thatcher and the stigma painted on the town already red with blood lost to the 96 later 97 lost souls. As a club they thought for years to raise again. And would for years give glimpses of what they were in the 70's and early 80's. In doing so put some cheer back in Merseyside. After decades of hard work the police finally buckled under its lies and cover ups. Klopp gave us stability at the top of the league where we have always belonged. Mr John Henry we thank you for stepping in and buying our club and being a pillar of support. Some called for you to be gone but honestly thank you for making this club about the City of Liverpool and allowing it to thrive. In Slot we now trust. But most of all the 97 souls lost on that day. I will never forget and you will never walk alone.

I remember this song because I was little when the Vietnam War was happening and my brother had just finished his tour (years) of it. He and his friends had all been discharged and they were going out together to celebrate coming out alive after being in the front lines of war. He had told me of his having to see his friends die and help carry them out. That evening he told me before they went out to celebrate that it's easy to die and hard to live. He and his buddies went out and on the way home, he called our mom to say he's coming home. He never made it back. He was involved in a car accident and died instantly. What life throws at you. Thank you for allowing to vent.

I lost my brother 7 years ago to alcoholism. He was 110 pounds when he died. This song is a painful reminder.

The only thing that gives me bigger chills than this, is knowing that they got their justice. 27 years too bloody late, but it came, and they can now rest peacefully, with no one tarnishing their names or reputations. They were UNLAWFULLY killed. No accidents. They were killed. The saddest part is knowing some family members did not live to see the justice they so vehemently campaigned for. May they all RIP.

This song means so much to me. My uncle died three years ago this christmas and this song was played as he was carried into the church by my Dad and his other 6 brothers.R.I.P Rich<3 Not only that but i am a huge liverpool fan and this song is so important to the 96 who died. R.I.P to the 96 fans, you'll never walk alone.

anyone who disrespects this song is disgusting, the families of the sufferers deserve respect and lets get this to number 1 for them!!!! #justiceforthe96

Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott deserve more than one second of screen time.
The Hollies (Allan Clarke!) made this song a massive hit.

What is really fantastic is that over 50-years ago this song came out……And the power it electrified back then song is still that

Brilliant. So pleased that Sir Paul Mccartney gave his talent to this song, because now the song and its message will go global.
