I just recently replaced my fuel injectors, and installed them into the fuel rail. Started her up and leaking fuel from the two injectors above the two center pistons. Leaking from the fuel rail too. I put a little too much pressure or something when installing them, or maybe I didn't put them in perfectly straight. It was my first time, I think I kind of "teeter tottered" them in. But either way both of them ripped. People underestimate how easily that can happen, and the headache it'll save you if you be a little careful.

Thanks man! I started smelling fuel upon startup of my 1999 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 (SOHC). I decided to clean the engine to see if I could see anything. This morning, I saw dripping fuel on the passenger side fuel rail closest to the firewall (chamber 1 I believe). So, I'll be going to Napa Auto to get a full set of o rings and just replace all 16.

Used your videos to change the intake manifold gaskets. Everything seems fine except the gas smell I’m smelling now. And yep, I used the same O-rings. Guess I’ll change those tomorrow morning. Thanks Matt.!

I've got the fuel rail pulled on my L67 3800 engine with 100, 000 miles (replacing the lower intake manifold gaskets). It certainly seems like I need to do some cleaning of the seats in the heads that the fuel injector plugs into. What's the best way to do that and not have crud fall down into the head and on top of the valve?
Thanks for addressing this issue that nobody else seems to.

Yeah I had a close call where one of my injector clips was not fully seated and I had some fuel spraying out on top and now this is on top of the v6 twin turbo Audi and thank God I didn't drive too far but as soon as I smelled it coming through the vents I pulled over and freaked out and fixed the clip real fast but now I just ordered about 36 o-rings still waiting for them got eight of them from Audi but they're $10 a o-ring

I had some spark plugs and wires changed recently at a repair shop and while changing that the notice a fuel leak. The shop informed me that they changed two of the O-rings. I'm not sure why they didn't changed all of them while they had the fuel rail off. Its been about a month now and I'm smelling gas. I remember that shop telling me that I could have had an engine fire so now I'm terrified to drive the car and I'm trying to figure out how to change all the O-rings.

Hi dear friend sorry for the trouble but I have a question the can't get a clear answer from some of my mechanic friends!!The question is, what happens if we drop 2 of the injector o'rings into the manifold and drive the car without pulling out the o'rings?as you know that is hard task to pull out the o'rings!!
Thank you for the soonest reply and I appreciate you in advance.🙏

Can you further discuss what other lubricant you can use? My car is waiting for another set to be slapped in and I think I used silicone last time. Can I use brake grease since its synthetic?

i bought brand new o rings for my cbr600rr they rip apart while installing! the shop told me to coat them with wd-40 but it didnt help. the force of pushing injector into rail rips the o ring everytime! wtf ? i keep installing and then start up and fuel squirts out everytime and i immediately hit the kill switch, so frustrating. im going to dealership today to order o rings again! i guess i’ll try vaseline but do i push them in the rail straight on? or should i try to angle them in? i don’t understand why this is so challenging
