And in Hungarian ' Poland' is ' Lengyelország'.
In Polish they call ' Hungary' ' Węgry '.
Very simple, isn't it?😂

Both Polish and Hungarian names come from “Vlach” which was a common Central and Eastern European name for Latin speakers.

Spiegazione per gli italiani, semplicemente, le due parole derivano da un termine usato per descrivere gli attuali Rumeni, o Valacchi con il nome vecchio, il quale in polacco è Wloch e in ungherese Olah, in più Orszag in ungherese vuol dire paese, quest’associazione è avvenuta perché questi due popoli hanno riconosciuto la somiglianza in quanto lingue latine delle due lingue, ed essendo che l’Italia parla queste lingue è stata battezzata come, terra dei parlanti di latino

Ploish word 'Włochy' is actually a loanword from germanic peoples. It is related to other words like 'wallonia', 'wales', 'wallachia'. All of them come from the Proto-Germanic word '*walhaz'. It was used to refer to the Celtic people. That's why Wales is called like this. Slavic people also borrowed this word but it would eventually evolve to refer to any foreigners. It's worth noting that in ancient times many Celtic tribes were living in present day Italy. The Lombardi region is named after them.

Funny thing is that Italy and Poland are the only two nations in the world that cite themselves in their national anthems if i remember it correctly.
