Brown noise is an excellent sleep aid, great for study or masking unwanted sounds, and some find it helpful for tinnitus. Brown noise, which is also known as Brownian noise, soft noise, random-walk noise, or red noise, is a kind of noise produced by Brownian motion. It has more energy at lower frequencies than white or pink noise and has a damped, soft, "low roar" quality, like a waterfall or heavy rain.
