I saw this at TIFF last September and I can't wait to see it again. I think it's Baumbach's best film to date, with "The Squid and the Whale" a close second. This movie is Mike Leigh's "Happy-Go-Lucky" and Woody Allen's "Manhattan" in all the best ways possible.

I'm excited. Looks really good. I love Gerwig and love the choice of song in the trailer. It's times like this I wish I lived in a big city so I could see all of the smaller films I'm interested in on the big screen.

I thoroughly cared about Greenberg precisely because he wasnt entirely likable, but you can tell that he is trying to change. At the end he does. Also I think it should be self explanatory. Black and white is old style look and so by using that in the film, with a city like New York that has this very romanticized air about because of all the history and the art and love for that city, the black and white enhances that romanticism and nostalgic feel. and like i said its an homage to manhattan

Have you seen Woody Allen's Manhattan? I thought the same thing, but I realized afterwards that it's better in black and white.

Why is it always the girl's fault? People seem so quick to blame "the other woman" yet not the person who did the cheating. I don't know the full story or if there was any cheating involved. But obviously there were contributing factors to the demise of the marriage. If there weren't then it wouldn't have happened, IMO.

Well for starters, Greenberg is a very good film. Margot is ok, not great. Nobody in life is 100% likable. He writes his characters as human beings with flaws just like you. Also, I've already seen Frances Ha and it is terrific. It's in black white because it romanticizes the city of New York and the lifestyle of the young struggling artist in New York and also works as an homage to Manhattan for those very reasons. Just learn something about movies and then you can be valid in your arguments.

Yeah man holy shit. Such an intense gimmick. Using a choice of camera for a particular kind of image. Wow. I've never been so gimmicked out of my gimmicky gimbly gim gim gimmick.
