VIP Golf School Day 1/5

Показать описание
Day 1
Set Up- Toes straight, better to be flared out to aid in rotation from feet up throughout swing back and through.
Grip- Right hand floating until just before take away, get right hand on firmly and maintain grip to be fluid in take away.
Backswing- A bit of lateral slide to right/trail side. Want to stay more centered rather than sway.
We used the pool noodle to get a sense of where the club was going on the backswing and instead of a lift, we turned to the top from P3-P4
Drill- Feet together, instantly creates smaller pivot point, body stays stable. Also turn around lead shoulder. And use of pool noodle on alignment stake.
Downswing- At P4- club head was across the line and lead/left arm was too vertical. We used the pool noodle to get a sense of where the club was coming down from P4-P5. Attempting to shallow the club, and bisecting the bicep at P5.
The swing went from steep on the backswing at P4, to lead arm across trail/right shoulder AND shallowing from P4-P5, AMAZING results in such a short time period of a few hours.
Arms Straight throughout swing to P9. We used the tube on the lead arm for this. Feel the pressurization of the arms starting at the set up. We will do more on this tomorrow. A simple carpet tube, free from home supply store, works wonders for 'arms straight'. This is key to maintain the shape and distance from ball.
Other training aids used: Martin Chuck's Smart Ball
Pool Noodles, Training stakes for both alignment and to put into the ground.
This feels strange, it is strange. It is a new swing language to pick up and get used to. We are creating new movement patterns for the body.
Stellar golf swing work today to be sure. Due diligence to be sure. Patience and knowing that you are taking the correct steps to improvement.
Tres Bien! Day 2 here we come! :-)
