What did you like the most and the least about "The Batman"?

The whole point was that he ignored everyone else (including his own safety) but then by the end of the movie realized he couldn't keep operating that way, which is why he was saving people from the flood and carrying them out.

I saw the penguin as pure comedy especially in that part where he said I didn’t even shoot when falcony died😂😂

I think this Batman shouldn’t get bashed for his armor. Being the most grounded Batman to date it is strange that his armor is very durable and flexible but it’s also modern day Batman with the best of the best technology. I mean he wears contacts that not only record data but also live stream and pick up audio in good quality so a bullet proof suit doesn’t seem too much of a stretch in this world. He’s also a younger Batman so it seems reasonable for him to recover rather quickly from damage. At the very end of the movie, we see the strain the bullet impacts have on his body likely having damaged or broken ribs with the only thing keeping him standing is the adrenaline he takes at the end. It all seems plausible in its own way

Unpopular opinion: I REALLY liked the fact that this movie didn't dive into Bruce's family's back-story, and in fact cast them in a much different light than previously told. The back-story has been reimagined too many times, and it was refreshing to see Matt Reeves ignore it and focus on the dark secrets his family possessed.

This is the most authentic Batman movie I have ever seen.

They released a prequel novel that explained Bruce Wayne trained with Alfred and once he went all over the world for college he would spend a semester learning different martial arts. And Alfred was an agent in England

This was definitely the darkest Batman ever presented.

Didn't have any expectation going into the movie and came out thoroughly enjoying this film! 💯

This felt like an authentic Detective Comics rendition. Nicely done!

Really does not disappoint, and in a way, exceed my expectation. This really feel like a really well-done detective, thriller movie, not a super hero movie. Batman is portrayed extremely well, very scary at some point - the opening scene "not just a signal, a warning". The only thing that I "kinda" not like, is how he can soak so much bullets. Other than that, definitely a must watch.

Knocking Batman's suit for not being believable is like knocking superman's ability to fly cuz it doesn't follow physics.

I just watched, and this feels like an actual Batman movie. The darkness, the suspense, and especially the fear makes it a great movie in my opinion.

The armor serves a very important roll. It's a psychological marker for a 2yr Batman. He displays genius level detective skills like always, but lacks the tactical preperation experience he displays later. The development of these skill becomes his greatest asset. Batman's mastery of this skill set basically makes him unbeatable with preperation time. Which he basically always has a contingency plan for everything. But at this stage....2yrs into being batman....He's just a vessel for his rage and reckless abandonment. His suit displays this perfectly. A broken man, who never dealt with the lose and grief of losing his parents. He's willing to take a shot to give a shot. At this point batman is an unhealthy outlet for his rage.

No movie is flawless and might never be but that’s what I like about this movie, it’s not perfect but it really shows the Batman we were hoping for and it delivers on that

I disagree that the final point you made being that Batman doesn't care bout his consequences when it comes punishing the wicked is a negative thing about the film, it's like the entire point of the movie. Batman realizes that he has to be "more than vengeance" and he can be vengeance while also being a Beacon of hope for Gotham - that is what Gotham needs from batman. The movie goes in extensive detail to show us how truly hopeless and corrupt Gotham is and how crime is still on the rise because no one is giving these people hope for a better change. That's the entire message of The Batman

What I liked the most about this was the immersion into the environment and the authenticity of the setting. All along the movie you feel the darkness of the city, the unsafety and fear within the people due to crime, the unstability in the government and corruption in the police force... just simply amazing 👏 👏 👏

Personally I went in with extremely high expectations when I went to see it, and bloody hell my expectations were exceeded. An excellent movie, this is what should be the benchmark for all movies in terms of characters, casting, story writing, and etc I mean damn. It was perfect for me. I didn’t think it would exceed Nolans trilogy level but it so far is looking like it has. PATTINSON had a monstrous performance alongside Selina, Riddler, Jim Gordon, Falcone, and Penguin. Geez I’m really even prepared to buy the movie when it’s released on ITunes

Batman: Sometimes you have to crack some eggs to get a penguin...sorry?😘

To be honest, I don't think most of these criticisms are well founded. (SPOILERS)

Batman Armor: I think this is fine, sure, it seems a bit excessive but it is also shown in the film that he isn't invincible in the third act. Plus, given Bruce's multi-academic past, he would have become one hell of an engineer.

The Highway Pile-up: This was intentional, it's one of the main focuses of the film. Batman is not the symbol of hope we know him to be, he's a self absorbed, mentally ill, 6 foot tall Bat dude that runs around beating up low level criminals because he gets some satisfaction out of it (Due to PTSD). His disregard for those peoples' lives just shows the fact that he's empowered by nothing but pure rage and vengeance as opposed to actually wanting to be a force for good.

Alfred: I actually agree with this one but it's most likely to set up Alfred in the sequel where I'm calling he kills Penguin with a shotgun.

The Subway Cave: What? This was such a great creative decision. Anyway, personal preferences aside, remember that this is year 2 Batman; not the established hero (I'm seeing a theme with this in most people's criticisms like with Bruce and Batman being too similar) so he doesn't have his Batcave, it just wouldn't make sense for this world. Plus it also helps to distinguish from the Nolanverse.

Bruce's Careless attitude: Like I said before, this was intentional and Batman's final monologue after the flooding directly tells the audience his motivations.

Hey he is batman, i mean if iron man could have a bullet proof suit why can't he. I mean if he is a billionare and he goes around beating up criminals and he has a very good IQ he should have thought of developing a suit that would be capable of doing all this shit. I mean think about it he has time to put a utility belt but he forgot to make the suit durable, that doesn't make any sense.
So all in all it was good his suit could reflect these things, i mean he has to do this for a long time and if he gets injured now, who is gonna take his place.
