Best things to see in Lviv.
Lviv in the Ukraine, never ceases to amaze us. This was our second trip to the city for New Years Celebrations, and with so much more to see, do, eat and drink we had to make this a 2 part video of our winter in Lviv adventure! We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed being there!

This time we climb the City Hall tower for great views over the Lviv skyline. Try some beer tasting at the Lviv Beer Experience Centre, along with finding out about the history of Lviv and the fire of 1527. Search for the 2 heptagonal fortress towers at the Citadel, and try some Uzbek food at the Samarkand restaurant, plus much more!

I can remember visiting Lviv several times in the 1980's when it was then controlled by Soviet communists. The city centre was run down and draped in red communist flags, there were no bars or restaurants like there are today. Locals were only allowed only three hours of running water per day. The shops were virtually empty apart from the "dollar shop" which was for tourists only using American dollars. As a UK national I was only allowed to stay in the the city for four nights and then I had to move on to another city. I was not permitted to visit my Ukrainian relatives and I had to be back the hotel by 11.00pm every night. It's amazing how much some things have changed in Ukraine over the decades.
