Process: I filtered the vocals from the demo and added them into the original where the lyrics were different. I also increased the volume of some of the instruments to better match the demo version where they are more noticeable. I added the ending to match the demo version and because this song should have been longer anyways. I might make an extended version of the whole song.

*To clear some things up bc I may as well:*
-Before commenting "the lyrics don't sound right, " consider this: I agree! The vibe they give is not the same, and there is a reason they did not make the final cut. This remix is _based_ on the demo version, which sounds much simpler than this. It is just a concept of what it would have been like if she hadn't made that _smart_ decision.
-About the "underage" lyric: We know that Tate started working on greedy at least a year before it was released. It was released a few months after she turned 20. She was probably 18 or 19 when she started it. I do think the lyric is strange. But my job is not to make the lyrics nice, only to imagine what it would sound like if she hadn't changed them, and the demo version was kept, produced, and released (hence the title of this video).

*About the demo versions:*
A demo version (as far as I know) is a basic concept of the song so the writers can work out what they want it to sound like _before_ the produce it to a professional level and add all the ear candies.
When Tate said "the original lyrics were lame, " she was talking about the demo version.

That channel is great, and I use it for anything greedy-related. I got all the stems there.
Tate McRae Poland is also an awesome channel for stems.

*How did I make this (and the extended version)?*
I use Audacity and GarageBand. Any stems I cut are split down to the smallest unit of time possible. I cut all the greedy stems from the leaked video and cut everything down to the same length as 1 measure of the drums (16 beats at 111 BPM). Then I can drag those stems into GarageBand and reorganize them how I want. It's the closest I can get to just having access to Ryan Tedder's computer.
1. Take Demo 1 and cut the drums at the end. Duplicate them to the length of the song, invert them, and line them up with the demo version. This cancels them out very well.
2. I filter out any extra drums with UVR.
3. Then I take the vocal track and cut out the chorus and any other lyrics that are different. I stick them into the released-version acepella and line it up with the instrumental.
4. From there it's basically done, but it doesn't sound quite like the demo version yet. I add drums to the bride, make the intro longer, and make the outro longer. Then it has the same song structure/length as the demo version.
5. Using the stems, I change the background vocals from "I would want myself" to "I keep to myself." The outro vocals that say "iktms" were left in the final version so I just made them louder.
6. It is now the demo version, but it sounds like it made the final cut!
