‘Greedy' by Tate McRae: The Version You Didn’t Hear 🤔 #tatemcrae #music

Tate McRae’s huge hit song Greedy almost sounded completely different! Tate McRae revealed that she wrote multiple versions of Greedy before recording the one that ended up being released, and she hated all of the demo versions, calling the first version of Greedy “Trash”. The lyrics of these demo versions were completely different to the released version of the song.

Tate revealed that Greedy’s chorus originally started with the lyric “I keep to myself”, instead of “I would want myself”. This demo version of Greedy has actually surfaced online, so today I will be playing both versions back to back to show you how the lyrics changed as the song was rewritten.

The released version of the song goes “I would want myself, baby please believe me” “I’ll put you through hell, just to know me yeah, yeah”

and the demo version goes “I keep to myself, don’t give it up that easy” “I keep to myself, baby don’t get Greedy” “you wish you knew me well, but I keep to myself”

Fun fact: The background vocals in the demo version of Greedy which go “I- I- I- keep- keep- keep-“ were actually used in the final released version of greedy, even though the lyrics were changed to “I would want myself”.
