As a composer I do exactly the same as I do as a professional mural artist: I make a selection of colours; a spectrum; to define the colour ambiance of what I am about to create. That also applies to the selection of a sound pallet for music. You create that signature sound ahead.

But almost always, if i'm not yet inspired i start with listening to a lot of presets.

I'd really like to hear how someone gets started into scoring films. That seems like something I'd really enjoy but I have no idea where one begins. Frankly, I trust you and your experience and very much appreciate your content, so figured I'd ask if you have any advice 🤷
