In this session, I am going to tell aspirants what NOT to read while preparing for UPSC.

There are so many sources for UPSC, and every year the books are only becoming thicker -- unnecessarily.

This class focuses on eliminating those sources and focusing on IAS syllabus topics.

Sir most of the aspirants had a problem of figuring out understanding the syallbus everyone knows what the syllabus is but doesn't know the subtopics of each syallbus
So I'm requesting you if you had time please provide what sub topics will come under each topic for every subject. So that everyone can get an idea what to be read and what to be left.

What not to study-
1. EPW
2. PIB

4. IDSA
5. All coaching websites (except what a particular website is good at. For example iasbaba is good at yojna and kurukshetra summary)
6. Vikaspedia
7. Arthapedia (good for certain concepts; can be used as reference for some concepts; can also use Khan Academy for macroeconomics)
8. livemint
9. WEF
10. News on AIR
11. UNEP
12. Studyiq (Don't see all the videos; See only syllabus relevant videos)
13. Editorial videos
14. Down to Earth

Books-
1. Plassey to Partition
2. Mastering Modern World History by Norman Lowe

Summary:
WHAT NOT TO Read:
EPW
PIB website-way too much content. Difficult to filter. It's already covered in nwespaper and monthly mags.
IDSA
ORF
Iasbaba, Insights and other similar websites - can't be read in its entirety. Instead only those sections which are good in a particular website should be read, eg: Yojana and Kurukshetra summary.
Vikaspedia
Arthapedia
Down to Earth
Livemint. Not even for economy news.
World Economic Forum, UNEP Websites - Once in a while is ok.
YT Channels - StudyIQ is good but only UPSC related topics should be covered, if at all.
Editorial review is a very bad way of learning things. The original editorial should be read and understood.
Books : Plassey to partition, World history by Norman Lowe

Hello Sir,
Thanks for making such a great awareness videos on every topic and also for guiding us in a best way possible.
I am a working professional and I have started following you from last 6-7 days as I had started my UPSC journey on 2nd June 2021. Since I started the journey, I saw lots of Topper's videos on strategy, book list, CA, Newspaper reading, etc, but the way you explain the things, it just fits in my mind, it's like you are in front of me and explaining things. Sir I genuinely feel that It's all due to your dedication and hard work that how much you want us to clear UPSC. I am not exaggerating in any way, it's just whatever I am feeling right now after watching some videos of yours, I am writing it.
Just a humble request from you sir, "Could you please make a video on Syllabus of UPSC" or "How to go through the topics mentioned in syllabus", "How to analyze the syllabus", etc. Thanks in advance Sir.
Still so much to learn form you and hope to meet you in person after clearing this examination. :)

Good afternoon sir, ... Sir every time you'r suggesting that "Opinions, Ideas have no place in UPSC". But a question starts with "Do you think/ Will you agree/ What do you know/ How do you elucidate in your point of view etc., " seem to be started with "I think/ I agree...

Sir, Could you please elaborate "What is meaning of "OPINION, IDEAS" in your point of view..??

Yes sir you are really true...many toppers say to follow PIB but this is too heavy to follow, just they simply say it but this is very impractical in my mind to crack this exam as these PIB information which are related to UPSC are compiled in the monthly magazine or daily ones also, so better to go with this monthly magazine.
