Day 4 of insulating the attic!

Today is a prep day. We are moving to a new section of the attic. We needed to rearrange some storage and prep the new section of attic space.

There is wood spacers running on the edges guys

Applying the rigid board lengthwise across the joists would be easier to air seal, and provide continuous R vs the wood. Less storage space tho. And not compatible if you want to add drywall.

R13 is a very low value for attic insulation in almost all of the country, and since you're wearing a sweater I'm going to say that's definitely too low for where you are.
