What if NHL History was REPLAYED?

Since the dawn of the 21st Century, the National Hockey League has undergone some pretty radical changes to get to where it is today. While the NHL has clearly changed over the last 20 years and the seasons of yesteryear are firmly cemented in the history books, what if they were replayed? Would a similar outcome occur, or would an alternate timeline be formed? Would history repeat itself, or would it be changed forever?

In today's debut episode, join me as we take a trip down memory lane, fire up NHL 2003 for the Nintendo Gamecube and replay the 2002/2003 NHL season!

Toronto winning the Cup and Todd Bertuzzi winning the Lady Byng trophy. This is indeed an alternate world.

This is such a fun and cool video idea! Really excited for the next part of the series!
I love how this is a little bit of everything: hockey history, gaming history, franchise mode sim, your fun commentary with all of it. Really great idea!
Although I had to actually laugh out loud when Toronto of course won the Stanley Cup. I mean: who else?
Maybe that’s the actual reason for their first round curse. Cause they always get to win in all the video games they can’t also win in real life…

This is as close as you can get to the idea I pitched during one of your streams about doing alternate hockey history. Couldn't smash that like button fast enough, and I hope to see the series continue.

Nice video! Would probably be too complicated, but would be cool if you redid the draft order based on the standing you got in game with the lottery odds for the time. And completly redo the draft from what we know today. I don't know just an idea

I know you're carving out an alternate universe just by the fact that Pittsburgh is first in the Conference after 41 games. The Penguins of that era were literally bankrupt, and built their teams as such, or should I say destroyed them? If you were a Penguin of noticeable skill and over the age of 24 in this era, you were probably being traded for futures so they could slash payroll. What was left was just a soft, slushy mess that got bullied up and down the ice and piled up top draft picks. There was also the crumbling arena and rumblings of moving the team. This is a dark time that is rarely mentioned by Pens fans, with the upshot being that all those top picks later coalesced into the core you see today.

This has been fun. FYI, Stephane Richer's last name is pronounced "Ree"-"Shay" and Sergei Nemchinov's last name is pronounced "Nem-Chee-Nahv"

My red wings had 4 cups in 10 seasons played (11 calendar years), but little success since, so I'm good re-doing history going back to the lockout.

With FHM8, you can go all the way back to 1917 which is pretty cool.

I feel like turning off two line pass effected the stats and standings more than expected compared to teams that were built heavy for the dead puck 2003 era hockey. Still a really fun video series!

The Toronto Maple Leafs winning the first is the funniest way to start this

It would be perfect if its possible to do your own drafts because the lottery would be different. I know its not possible for each round but maybe you could do it for the 1st round or the top 10 and then send the players to their new team
