In this clip, Austin finds his way to an old acting teacher's metaphor to explain why this Batman film didn't *quite* stick the landing (by, ironically, trying to stick every landing written in the script).

Wondering where the full episode is? We're publishing them on all major podcast platforms! Check it out below:

It’s batman year 2 guys, he’s still becoming batman. I feel like you guys want an already established caped crusader when obviously that’s not the story Matt Reeves was trying to tell. we as the audience are watching him grow

Not once did I feel this movie needed to be rated R.

It showed enough. What more did you want to see?

way too many sponsored ads on this podcast guys, never heard a pod have so many ads
enjoyed your criticism, tho i do think raymond’s assertion that batman takes itself too seriously and should be more of a comedy is slightly undeserved, batman has never been a comedy, it started out as a detective comic, which is what this film has returned to, the moments of humour are very welcome but a whole comedy batman film does not seem appealing to me or the majority of fans… no one wants to return to the adam west days because that shit is unwatchable

Raymond is entitled to his opinion but I feel he comes off as contrarian.
"I never really cared for the Dark Knight" " Death proof is my favorite Tarantino movie".
Oh really? Great! 🙄. Next, tell me how Scorcese is one of the most overrated directors.

You can nitpick for days with literally any movie. I gained nothing from this 12 minutes.

If i knew this movie was going to be just a pure audio-visual entertainment, I would have enjoyed this movie more. I guess I just assumed a movie about batman will have me leaving with some interesting ideas or insights to think about, and so I was disappointed. The more I thought about the movie, the more I despised it cuz it felt like it was pretending to be 'deep' when it really wasn't. And the main themes this movie had, has already been explored in a much deeper way in the previous batman movies.

I hate podcasts so much and am so so disappointed that the full discussions are no longer being posted as videos. Very sad.

I 100% agree that movies nowadays just don't stand on their own anymore. Those were pretty much my thoughts when it was announced beforehand that they will make a trilogy out of this: "Oh great, another movie that will just be the first part of a story. So why should I watch this now instead of waiting until the story is complete?"

It's the same thing with Dune, though I can accept this more for novel adaptations, if the novel would just be too big to cram into one movie... but for original movies I don't like this concept at all.

The movie wasn't good. Maybe to the Batman Zealots/Apologists.

The Anti White message was so Fking Cringe that I rolled my eyes

This will be the last Batman film I'll ever watch. There was nothing left to be said about the character Batman that hasn't been done a thousand times before and better.

Plus they could have easily taken off 40 minutes of the film. It was too long and it was unnecessary.

The Batman took three previous films and rolled it into one to produce the Batman. They took Saw, the Zodiac and Se7en. They did that with a joker as well and then passed it off like it was some kind of masterpiece

Meh just CRINGEY as F

I listen to the podcasts and wanted to come here to see if anyone else felt like they were way off with this view . I’m sorry but I’ve only heard of how hard it is to make movies with illegal streaming being so dominant . It’s always sunny in Philadelphia has a perfect episode on this exactly. It felt nerfed to some but not by me personally. But it has to play in the parameters of a pg13 movie because kids are the only ones to go pay movie ticket prices and the older millennials like to stay at home and rip it from the web. But all considered I was thoroughly entertained throughout and was able to turn my brain off from the hyper criticism of other movie that are not a popcorn movies because it is a popcorn movie guys . Maybe not do such pop movies such as these because some times they sound really bitter hyper critical and I don’t mean to sound rude but I haven’t seen any movies or shows any of the three of these guys have made that’s been on the big or silver screen. Just saying . I got the same vibe on the the recent Bo burnham special, they sounded kind of bitter that a fellow YouTuber has made it big in a real way with a remarkable fete of content during a pandemic. Idk maybe I sound bitter . What does everyone else think.

"Movies for adults" is such a tired complaint. That's so subjective

Around the 2.30 mark Raymond cites an example about a riddle that Gordon gives to Batman to answer. Nowhere is the riddle or the answer anything like what Raymond says it is, so at this point I'm not even sure he's watched the movie because I have no idea what he's talking about.

It's almost like this film was made to be enjoyed by viewers. The matrix 4 on the other hand was made for the person who directed it.

After listening to 41 minutes of the podcast, I had to stop. For starters, I had no idea the movie was almost 3 hours long. Time flies, you know? But let’s all go watch Licorice PIzza for the sixth time? Give me a fucking break. Also, literally “SHOW ME THE MEANING”.

The riddles are supposed to be easy, because the Riddler wants Batman to answer him so he can find out the truth about Gotham, *AND* ultimately be saved as the city perishes under his grand plan. This isn't Riddler setting riddles in a bid to bewilder the Dark Knight, y'all...
