How much power is needed when powering an electronic device using a solar panel and a battery? In this video, I will show you how to figure it out and calculate exactly how much power is needed. The sample device is a 6V-12V Electric fence.

Really appreciate you making all of these videos, I started watching them about five years ago. I went from having no practical skills with electronics to being able to repair things that break around home and building my own ebike cheap. The first ebike I built let me get a job across town and that let me build something faster and more reliable. Now I'm planning to build a legitimate electric motorcycle I can register and stuff. Small steps become great leaps. Thank you sir, couldn't have done it without you.

Another excellent tutorial on circuit design basics with solar and Li-ion cells. Thanks!

Would it destroy a multimeter by measuring the 20kV across the terminals since most are rated for around 600V?

Won't the batteries be damaged if it charges below 6V or does the electric fence controller cutoff charging @ 6V?

Nice video. I have one objection, I think power consumption of this device will increase with fence when is connected because of wires leakage current etc. Especially when humidity is high. So, could you measure current again with fence hooked up?

I love watching your videos,
You explain yourself so well and your demonstrations are fantastic.
I have a question for you regarding a e-scooter controller. Zero 11x 2 in 1 controller. It has only 3 phase wires from the motors, no hall sensor wires. How do I change the direction of the wheels?

off topic, but I've seen you do some Swagger scooter videos and need some help. I heard about how you can remove the speed limiter in the programming by holding the break lever while powering up to get into the programming menu. But, not knowing what I was doing, I then proceeded to screw up the programming so that the scooter barely moves and wants to go backwards. Any ideas on what the proper settings should be and how to make the adjustments?

Is the electric shock powerful enough to repell wild pork?

And that shock was just touching the two terminals. Now get up to your knees in irrigation water, right hand holding on to a 12 in diameter metal gate valve pipe and assembly weighing about 60 pounds of metal trying to move it into position in the mud and water, then you start to lose your balance and your left arm contacts the electric fence. Yowsers. Nearly knocked me down.
