And always make sure you have the correct ball size… towed a camper all summer with a 2 inch bball on a camper that required a 2 5/16 ball…. I am one lucky SOB

That klunk you hear every time you hit the brakes or the gas is because you have wear in that hole. It will continue to get worse until you have it fixed or buy a new receiver hitch. I personally would drill it out to the next larger hitch pin size, probably 5/8 or 3/4.
