Defeating an Entry Gate

This only works if the gate is an exit with what we call a "free exit" inductance loop. Ever notice those rectangles in the ground at stoplights? Those are wires in the ground that go to an energized sensor. This sensor keeps a field of electrons pulsing in the ground, so when something big enough & metal enough ends up on top of it, the inductance field is interrupted and the sensor trips a relay to open the gate, or change the light etc.

We also put these loops in for safety purposes, and those particular ones will not trigger the gate to open. This method will only work if: the loop is actually working (they often expire) and sensitive enough to pick up a ladder/shovel/whatever, and it is specifically wired to open the gate.

To you, firemen, use your bolt cutters and open the fire box. Switch is bad and didn't open the gate? Pull the two wires off the switch and touch them together. If the wire is good, the gate will open. All else fails, i know you cats love ramming shit with the firetrucks.

Lastly, especially with slide gates, PLEASE DO NOT STICK YOUR HANDS THROUGH OR UNDER THE GATE IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE IT MOVE!

But what if the gate is level 50 or higher? I don’t even have the ladder perk unlocked yet, and level 20 gates are nigh impossible for me without it.

That work for about 2 or 3 days, now they modified the gate where I live to where only cars can go out. I can't even ride up to the gate no more on my bike. This is not safe for me if there was an emergency I'd be trapped on my own property.

Yeah that works until the censure on the other side doesn’t. I’m trying to LEAVE/EXIT my apartments and the gate is locked. There’s no keypad nor key fob. Apparently there’s an app I have to download on my smartphone (which I don’t have)

what he did was trick the gate system to think a car was on top of the loop detector in the concrete. That makes the gate open. Now all the thieves know too.
