I remember when Frank Gorshin died I told a fellow co worker about it and how he was the Riddler and the co worker said oh so Batman finally got him huh. Rest in peace to all the actors of the Batman series.

The 1960's Batman was my favorite. I like all of the Batman movies and shows but the 1960's one had a different flair and still taught about good versus evil. Watching Julie Newmar as Catwoman when I was a child I couldn't stand her character because she was a villian but as I got into my teens and beyond my attitude changed because I was noticing how attractive she was. She turned out to be my favorite.

You left out a lot of villains: Joan Collins (Siren), Roddy McDowell (Bookworm), Liberace (Chandell), all three Mr. Freezes (George Sanders, Otto Preminger, Eli Wallach), John Astin (Riddler), Shelly Winters (Ma Parker), Lee Merriweather (Catwoman), and the Mad Hatter (David Wayne). Plus, there were a couple of minor appearances by the Green Hornet and Kato (Van Williams and Bruce Lee, respectively), plus all of the cameos by people opening windows during batwalks (too many to list here).

In Britain, when it was broadcasted on TV, every week in 1967, we all would look foward to Saturdays and Sundays ( Yes, each series was in two instalments ).
How much we all loved it is difficult to explain but then, a few years later when we realised that it was all just acting, it was Heart-Breaking.
In school playgrounds it was the favourite played game.
Everyone wanted to play Batman or Robin but, only two would get the role while, all the rest had to settle for playing the Villains.
Those Days Of Innocence are lost for ever.
