The Delta 2 Max is being advertised as a generator replacement. With that, I wanted to stack it up against our generator as it is similarly sized and see how they both perform and how long they can run.

Click the link below to use my code EFAARVS8 and get an extra 8% off DELTA 2 Max and DELTA 2 Max Solar bundles, valid until June 25.

Until June 4, you can choose to get other benefits:

Use code 2X110AARVS to get 2 free 110W Solar Panels when you buy a DELTA 2 Max unit ( solar generator bundles not included).

I can’t be any happier, without getting wet spots, with my Honda EU3200 w/Bluetooth monitoring. It’s the Bees Knees of generators, and I let Honda service it for me whenever the notifications tell me maintenance is due. Fair Winds.

Kudos on a fair and thorough side by side. I think there’s room on board for both solutions.

Living and camping in the PNW, rain/clouds is kind of a day to day issue 2/3rds of the year which make reliance on solar exclusively a no go.

I run 800 watts solar on the roof to a big Bluetti unit and have a couple of dual fuel Champion 2500s that I can run solo or in parallel. Power is never an issue.

EcoFlow or Bluetti…great gear no matter who you go with.

Thanks for putting this video out!

Very good comparison between the two, I’ll stay with may duel fuel generator. Way too expensive for me.

Great review!, I have Delta 2 Max and use for Starlink when boon-docking, battery lasts 28 hours ( without solar panel) to 10% with out putting Starlink in sleep mode. Works for us as we rarely stay at one spot more the 2 days.

Nice honest comparission. I have the champion 2000 dual fuel and run it in the morning to top off my Battleborns. Then turn off and run on batteries all day and night

I was told any good Solar system has a good Generator Back-up to compliment each other....:)

I just bought one of these for my trailer. I dont think it will 100 percent replace my generator but for overnight use for wstching tv and keeping my batteries good overnight with having a 12v fridge i think it will work great.

They both have their place. I don't think one completely replaces the other. At places where we can't run a generator we take a Ecoflow River. Like on our boat or tailgating. Not running an RV on it, but good enough to keep devices charged, bluetooth speakers going, couple fans. The other thing to consider here is cost. The Ecoflow's are CONSIDERABLY more expensive. It's hard to justify $2k for a power bank. My 15, 000 watt whole house generator was about the same cost.

Great video—thank you. Why not both? If you’re spending $4, 500 on the delta 2 max and extra battery and solar panel, you may as well spend an extra $400-$500 and have the propane generator back up. The champion can charge the Delta 2 max batteries during the daytime in a few hours so you can use the batteries silently the rest of the time.

Good rich content video. We have Honda EU2200i with Hutch Mountain tri-fuel mod. We use Honda when boondocking and need AC or after several days without sun.

I bought the $850 predator 3500 inverter generator 4 1/2 years ago and have 375 W of panels on my roof with two 100 amp power lithium batteries and have never run out of power. The lowest I’ve seen my batteries get is 70% But I also don’t travel where I need air conditioning and I cook real food so I don’t use the microwave. But I like the idea of a solar generator when and if my predator ever dies. I typically use my generator to recharge my E bike and my Bluetti 1000w battery box for my CPAP machine every 5-7 days

For camping, I would suggest getting the ecoflow without the extra battery and the generator to recharge the ecoflow when there’s no sun.

Good video! You showed some advantages and disadvantages in the comparison. We have 400 watts of solar on our rv charging two agm 12 volt batteries. Does a wonderful job. One of these days I will be converting over to lithium and will consider just buying the Delta Pros. Sounds like they can take care of most power needs except extended a/c usage. But, I will still bring my generator along while boondocking as a backup. Been too many times where I would have been absolutely miserable without a generator.

They both have their advantages. Together, you are unstoppable.

If you don't need need the portability of the EcoFlow or similar units, I think spending on the money on upgrading your RV's battery bank is the better option if you already have an inverter. The Champion DF generators are great too, I have the 3400W unit and it's only been on propane and plumbed to my trailer's 60lb of LP, it can run a really really long time and charge back up my lithium battery bank if the 400W solar can't keep up, which only happens when I run the 13.5kBTU A/C on the inverter for about 3 hours.

Well done as always. Although the all in one's are tempting, the cost vs separate components is quite high and if the inverter, charge controller...goes out in the all in ones... I think that unless you want/need portability, the winner is separate components and the Champion 2500 duel fuel.

I also have the champion dual fuel generator. It is awesome. I mounted it to the front hitch of my camper and ran a cable with a padlock around it. I have the 14.5k furrion A/C with a micro-air easy start and that is the only item I can power with the Champion on propane. I have to unplug everything 110v and shut off the battery charger and then I can run A/C all day long. The only downside is it is louder than other generators but as far as I saw the quieter generators didn’t offer an easy dual fuel option like this. It has to be installed separately. So Champion it is.

I think using both is the way to go. The pro's and cons of each compliments the other. I have that champion you showcased and love it. I have a Pecron E2000lfp which intakes 1300 watts of solar. I use them for blackouts, hurricanes etc.. The pecron has a 2000 watt inverter the champion has 1650 on propane that's a lot of simultaneous power during busy times dinner etc.. I love both of them they really compliment each other. Great video!

This is tbe best comparison i have been thinking in my head 😢... other youtubers ive seen they are just advertising for ecoflow

Thanks for the awesome video!!! I will definitely be going with the Champion inverter after learning that the geny will run longer under a 1500 watt Air conditioning load at a fraction of the price of the Delta 2 with extra battery!! I camp off the grid so once the generator is out of fuel you just re-fuel it, would have to purchase a generator to charge the battery banks, pay even more for the solar panels and have to wait many hours for them to charge them up, definitely not feasible for off grid camping
