x could be 89 or 8

SOLUTION 1:
by inspection,
if x = 89 then y = 90

SOLUTION 2:
if x = 8 then y = 10

this is because 90 is the product of two consecutive numbers ( 10 x 9 ) so if x = 8 then the right hand side is the factorial of 10

My problem is that I am looking at this as an equation where y is a product of a number and a variable x, where I need to solve for x! I am not thinking of assigning values to x, and definetly not x=89, I would have thought of other things but not this. Thus, by this logic, if x would be 7 instead of 8, than y is going to be 9?!
