A-6E Intruder low-level flying from the 90s

A-6E Intruder edited footage from 1991 to 1993. I shot the video while stationed at NAS Whidbey Island and deployed on the USS Ranger when I was a B/N with Attack Squadron 145. You'll see various low levels in Washington and Oregon such as the VR-1355 and VR-1350. The resolution isn't the best as we only had VHS-C recorders at the time!

Nothing better than to end the day flying that route back to "The Rock." VA-165 & VA-155.

I was attached to VA-176 from 83 to 86. The A-6E is the best Med Attack aircraft ever! I miss those days.

Dude, this is the best POV footage from the Navy I have seen. There is such a joyful and whimsical way you film that really drives that feeling of nostalgia.

Been there! Loved it! Would give body parts to do it again. One of the greatest aircraft ever developed.

I retired from Whidbey as a SAR pilot up there and recognize a lot of the mountains and valleys. I really wanted to fly those but in 1991 when I selected out of 36 1 guy got jets and 28 of us got Helo's. Wasn't so bad though, I flew SH-60B's which at the time were the most advanced in the world, while not real fast it was a pretty capable machine for finding the enemy be they surface or subsurface. Alone and unaffraid when the Carrier was shut down for the night and the E2's were put to bed, we were out there way in front of the battle group looking. Love this A6 footage.

Take a compliment from a former submariner. This is awesome footage! I also love the "pilot stache" that he had going! Thank you for sharing!

Great video and great terrain! I can relate to the trap in the rain, but we did not have those mountains on the east coast. Thanks very much for the blast from the past.

Looks like most of that footage was of VR 1355 in the Cascade Mtns in Washington State. Great footage.

Very cool video! On multiple occasions in the 90's I saw Prowlers and Intruders flying very low very fast while I was hiking in the WA Cascades. I also remember (1991-92?) when an A-6 clipped its wing on the basalt cliffs near Vantage WA about 25 minutes from where I live. Sadly the crew was killed.

Awesome footage! I was P-3 Aircrew at Whidbey in the 90's. I miss flying around the Cascades.
