For those considering the 64GB and using a great big fast SD Card (like me). One of the problems with the minimal SSD is that the OS stores game shader cache and other stuff ONLY on the internal drive. Some 3rd party programs help with this but it's been a real chore to manage thus far. If I could do it again I'd have purchased the middle SSD at least. As proven in many videos, a fast SD Card is fine for load times and playing in real time, I totally recommend using that storage, but beware of the internal drive filling up with system files you can't easily manage.

I really hope they open up the availability for more countries soon. The Z1extreme Rog Ally is for sale here in my country from the Asus store for around $800. Meanwhile the only way you can get a SD is from resellers, the 64gb model is like $500, while the 512gb model is as expensive as the Ally.

It's also worth noting that the 64GB and 256GB models are now back in stock in the UK, just in time for the sale...as if Valve were creating stockpiles the last few months ready for this occasion! 😂

Wow, amazing to see a console on sale! Maybe the Ally has slowed Deck sales, because I went for it over the Deck. Even though I do want to get a future Deck because I think Valve is gonna keep innovating and owning at low wattages.

Mine just arrived last week! Having a blast so far. I tested the touchpads on Risk of Rain 2 a couple of days ago and WOW, they are SO much better than the ones on the Steam Controller (Which were already good).

The simulated clicks with haptics are a game changer. I used to bind leaning on shooters to left/right clicks on the touchpad on the SC, but the travel time and excessive resistance on the pads would result in a bit of unwanted movement from the gyro. Just tried it out on the SD yesterday and it feels completely smooth now. Amazing device!

Steam deck has been amazing to me. It allows me to play excellent titles from steam and my retro game collection as well.

This sale is better than the last one they did with the Deck (when I got mine). If you haven't gotten one yet and you got the money, get it! And if you end up getting the 64gb version, make sure to get the 1tb ssd for it, trust me.

I bought it for 30% extra from a local reseller just so I do not have to wait 2 weeks. Still a steal and am loving it. Perfect for my almost daily 4 hour train rides

My deck isn't in the same country as me. Had to RMA it, was putting it off but it had to be done. It started as 1 issue then another and then the entire konsole wouldn't work even after a system reset. That was the final straw.

Edit: this reminded to check my email and Valve received my deck today, the process is happening.

I got myself tomtoc bag and it turned out to be not as spacious as I expected. I've put my charger, power bank and some USB cables and that was basically it. The bag has enough small compartments for flat accessories but anything 3-dimensional like a mouse or makes it cramped really fast.

I'm not interested in the ROG Ally, but thank god for the ROG Ally! I'm guessing this competition prompted Steam to do up 20% off the Steam Deck.
