If that happens again, just know that you can place down blocks up there and it will spawn piglins. They, in combination with gold from zombified piglins, will give you literally every single resource required to make a portal.
Nice save with the boat trick though. I had no idea that was even a thing

Tip for snowy wolf
Wear leather boots(crafted with 4 leather)
It helps wearing leather boots so you won’t sink in the powdered snow

Fun fact, it is easier to find wolves at night, because they'll be attacking mobs, and they're a little bit easier to find when you hear barking growling and the sound of a Dying monster all at once, so for the last two walls it was kind of a good thing you decided to stay up. But it was also a foolish decision, because if you die it's over.

The pale wolf still stays my favorite because I have a world that is one year old with my pale wolf name Plain and unlike other people, I feed him, I walk him and take him on every single one of my adventures, even to the world border. Even though it is in Minecraft I still think he is the most important thing in my Minecraft account.
