Doctor Answers Medical Questions From Twitter...Again

After reading some medical questions on Twitter, I decided to go ahead and answer some of them! I've done this in the past, but this time I decided to answer them a little more seriously... because you know, I've matured a lot in the last 8 months :p
As always, please do not use this information in place of advice from your own doctor. These are general answers which can and will vary depending on each patient's presentation and medical history!!!

When people come into emergency wards that are a mess how do they keep the room sterile and deal with accidents, homeless people, drunks, folks hit by train (8 this past year people trying to beat the train on foot, bicycle, car) etc. Do they get hosed down somehow or what before going to operating room or where ever? My trip there from being dumped in the sand in a bareback riding accident I don't remember the ambulance ride or anything for a whole day.

Great video as usual, Dr Crystal!

I was wondering if you'd be interested in hearing my story sometime, and possibly reacting to it in a video. I'm an Army vet and I've been going to the VA for 11 years now. And in those 11 years I have suffered through a lot. From what seems like incompetence to apathy to even malice. It's been a really rough road, and I'm still fighting with it.

I've always wanted to have a Doctor outside the VA system to hear the whole story and tell me what they think. Is some of the stuff I've been too pretty standard everywhere? I'm I crazy for thinking it's been so awful for me, or do most doctors really strive for something better.

You seem like a really kind soul and I would love it if I had the chance to talk to you about my whole experience at the VA. I understand if you don't have time or don't feel comfortable though.

One morning I woke up with my right ear sounding muffled, and over time during the day it sounded like hearing a waterfall from a long distance, no fluctuation, no heartbeat rhythm sounds, just a steady constant waterfall, is this a form of tinnitus? and this happened on a Thursday, i made an Drs appt Friday afternoon and went into the drs office Monday morning, by the weekend that whole waterfall sounds were completely gone, maybe my hearing have gotten used to the muffled sounds by that time, and my Dr said it looks completely normal inside my ear canal, and didn't recommend a specialist, my Dr said the cause could be because of the weather or something, but a week later nothing changed, but once in a while i get this sharp very short burst of pain inside my ear canal, but that hasn't happened in a couple days, should i go make an drs appt for the purpose of actually getting a recommendation by a hearing specialist?

I severely fractured my wrist in June 2018. I went through plate and screw fixation surgery and even though it’s gotten a lot better, I still have issues with numbness of index and pinky fingers. Is this permanent?

Very informative today. Was about to ask on the allergies but you answered.😇 Shots I don't worry because I had so many while I was in I don't think my body will need it. (Yes, including the experimentals)😳 I did have a pneumonia shot and tetnious shot giving to me about 14 yrs. ago at the VA and couldn't turn my neck to the left for about 2 weeks. They said that was normal. Is it? What kind of TB test do they give now? I remember it used to be a white cap that had 4 little pins in that they would prick your forearm and wait a day to see if you had a reaction in your skin. Usually a red spot would form if you were susceptible to it. Last time I had that was '71. Just curious. Good video.👍 See you next week.
