Hydrangea, Onyx Zebra In Blooms in July

The intense and vivid blue color for this Hydrangea is unlike any other traditional blue Hydrangea Macrophylla. The plant tag says Zebra, with white blooms. Wrong tag or a revert in the genes? Regardless, it blooms reliably in such nice color. Cannot complain although it is not the white color I wanted.

I love this hydrangea!! I saw some a couple of years ago at a nursery and almost bought some - if I had known it blooms on new wood I would have! Anyway - the blooms at the nursery were also blue FYI - I think it’s beautiful

I think you got either an Onyx Flamingo or Onyx Peacock
From what I know so far a white Bloom macrophylla will always bloom white first then changes colors as it age either pink or blue depending on the PH level. I have a white Bloom macrophylla but do not know which one. I know it's not ONYX ZEBRA because the stems are not black. It's either Blushing Bride or Madame Emile Mouillere. 🤷
