All cattleyas all the time!! Haha, looking forward to that haul. I'm probably going to buy two new fancy catts myself soon, I've lost a lot of plants over the winter and I'm thinking about drastically reducing my collection and mainly growing cattleyas indoors under lights.

Geat!😃 I have cross Cyc. Loddigesii x Cat. Pileatum new growth is smaller then yours but I just look at him and I see something forming at the base. 😃 If it is flower spike it is first. Have him 2years, bougth him as near blooming size. I read at orhid specis that they bloom in spring.

Nice. You have a lot of them. I only have one catasetum, it is tenebrosum species and it is growing new bulb. Hope to see spike too.

Hi Danny. Please blab on. Your inquisitive and wandering mind are my morning “joe” (coffee) and makes for fun listening. Uh-hum the plump roots on the catasetum looks like turnip looks delicious 😬.
Question for a future vid (?), deciduous plants like this and the dendrobium, can they be rested in a darker area or they require full sunlight ? My only cool area is a garage that won’t freeze in the winter and is sorta dark. Thanks !!
Ps. Love your Cattleya Mosiae, can hardly wait on your nxt.

Hi Dani, I wanted to know how V. Mimi Palmer is doing and Vandachostylis Colmarie as well. May we get updates for them by chance? After all vanda season is coming. :)

Thanks for the videos, I’m new to orchids with a question since you mentioned crosses in this video. When they name a cross is the first name listed the seed bearing parent and the second name the pollen donor?

Suggestion for a video: "Renewal of what's in my pot". Those were fun (though not sure if you found them so...).

Can you explain how you water with semi hydro for catasetums? Just wondering how to work with their dormancy period.

I bought mine blooming one year ago. Kept it dormant and it has grown beautifully. Alas, no spike and the leafy part is starting to look old. What can I do next year?

I love your videos! Very informative & I don't find them too long at all :) I do have a comment about your intro music: I don't really like it. I preferred your previous intro music. It was more relaxing & felt like a better tone to set for your orchid videos.

Hey Danny... could you please upload subtitles. I am fond of your videos and watch at night when my baby is feeding and sleeping. That's the only time I can do with.

Catasetinae blooms have a darker colour the cooler they develop, so maybe you see a very intense coloured bloom that then opens faded for you, reason being warm temps.
Pileatum is one of the typical species that blooms 2-3 times a year at different stages of growth.
And I still don't understand why you call them 'catasetum orchids', it's like calling 'vanda orchids' an assortment of vanda, rhyncostylis, aerides, holcoglossum, tuberolabium, etc.
I understand the intended clarity, but I think it's better to tell people the right information.
Same you say vandaceous, you can say catasetinae :)
