It's time to make more space in our generator shed by building a battery storage area that is up off the ground, freeing up space for easier access and a few more tools.

Join me and my puppy, Pumpkin, as we tackle this project using nothing but a twist tie to measure.

The Amazon shelf used black plastics "wedges" that needs to be seated exactly into the groove of the metal legs. They are shaped like half tubes split down the middle. You need 2 per legs and they need to be compressed evenly to tighten. Therefore the load must be distributed evenly on the shelf. Once the weight is shifted a certain distance from center, the plastics pieces from the unloaded end come undone. Very poor design - always have failure at my company. The husky industrial shelves use metal knobs that goes into interlocking holes combined with cross metal brackets are much better and rated at 1000 lbs but are twice as expensive but well worth it.
