1:05-1:20 “Why does everyone want to go away? I like being home... But I don’t like being left behind.”

That hit hard for me. 😢

Claire Danes and Winona Ryder did amazing in this i scene. I felt so awful for Beth, she was a sweet angel but she died peacefully and in her bed with her big sister right by her side ! ❤️👼

I remember this scene destroyed me when I first watched it back in the mid 90s.
I love this scene, it was just so immensely sad.. yet it was so beautiful.
I love Claire Danes as Beth. I need to watch this again.

This scene never fails to make me ugly cry. I see so much of myself in Beth and Jo both, especially Beth. The acting is heart wrenching

This one clip, THIS ONE SCENE is the only reason why Greta Gerwig's version of Little Women in 2019 did not hit at all. The real connection between Jo and Beth was prevalent here but in Greta's, Beth barely had any lines and I felt nothing when she died. Winona and Claire Danes acting here will always make me cry!!

In my country there is tradition to open window to let the soul of dead go. So, I cried like baby when I just saw that window.

My mom died and she had two sisters that were very close to her; this scene made me cry so much.

This movie is so embedded in my heart, I hear the "Orchard House's" theme playing in my head constantly. It hits so close to home for me because I come from a household and family of almost all women on my maternal side.... With a stern and matriarchal great grandmother who mostly oversaw things from the Paternal side 😂😂😂😂 Literally every aspect of this movie, I relate to.

Especially this scene 😢😢😢 I have an Aunt, my 2nd Aunt, who was born an epileptic, and was always prone to illness. Like Jo - my mother comforted and took care of her sister Ceaselessly when they were kids. And like Beth - my 2nd aunt was the one who never stemmed far from the family home. My mother and 1st aunt went off and found their careers and had families.
My aunt's health has only IMPROVED over the years, and I thank God for that, and yet she still finds solace in being the homebody, that everyone knows will be there with a warm smile and a good laugh❤❤❤
But just the thought of losing my Aunt, or the thought of my mother's pain in losing her sister like in this I literally shiver and tear up.

Why didn’t Winona win the Oscar for this role? 😢

Little Women is my mum's favourite book. I was named after Queen Elizabeth I, called Beth for LW. She'd always wanted a daughter named Elizabeth, but never thought she would. But she did. Love you, Ma ❤

No matter how many remakes they make of LW, Winona will always be the best Jo in my book

This version is better than Greta’s because of this scene and Thomas Newman’s beautiful score
